Job Description

The Sales Operations Planning and Forecasting Manager will play a critical role in driving the accuracy and efficiency of sales forecasting and business planning across the organization (including Bitiba and Zooplus). Responsibilities include: 

Sales & Marketing Steering Inputs: 

  • Coordinate and prepare inputs for the weekly Sales & Marketing Steering meeting, including managing all inputs and being able to explain the weekly sales performance. 
  • Enhance weekly forecast accuracy, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and devise action plans with key stakeholders (marketing, loyalty, Bitiba, product) to mitigate risks or accelerate growth. 

Quarterly Sales Forecast - Process Alignment: 

  • Manage the forecasting model (including sales / marketing / vendor inputs) to facilitate the quarterly forecasting process, ensuring alignment with the broader Sales team (Regional VP's / Country Heads) 
  • Validate that the final Net Sales (NS) outputs meet Sales team expectations. 
  • Review and align with FP&A business partner (in line with the P&L) 

Annual Business Planning: 

  • Lead the bottom-up business planning process, including: 
  • Modelling annual goals by country and key drivers. 
  • Collaborating with Country Heads and Regional VPs to ensure alignment. 
  • Providing and validating sales driver inputs with FP&A  
  • Setting category-level targets aligned with Country Heads 
  • Responsible for owning the long term forecasting model and coordinating all inputs to drive business planning and long term planning  

Performance Monitoring and Insights: 

  • Track and manage country-level performance through weekly reporting, including a weekly email / leaderboard showcasing Net Sales and topline KPIs. 
  • Collaborate with country teams to identify growth opportunities and maximize results. 

Strategic Projects: 

  • Lead initiatives related to demand planning and forecasting. These could include (but not limited to) projects such as working with operations on NTP's, reducing delivery times and modelling initiatives and their impact on Net Sales. 

Qualifications

1. Demand Planning & Forecasting Expertise

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in demand planning, forecasting, and business planning.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Ability to track and enhance forecast accuracy through data-driven insights.
  • Experience managing demand planning tools and models.

2. Data Analysis & Financial Acumen

  • Strong ability to interpret sales data, performance KPIs, and financial metrics.
  • Knowledge of P&L management and financial planning.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.

3. Sales & Marketing Collaboration

  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams.
  • Ability to assess marketing campaigns' impact on sales forecasts.
  • Understanding of e-commerce business drivers and customer behavior trends.

4. Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen

  • Experience in long-term business planning and market trend analysis.
  • Ability to translate high-level business goals into operational plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to mitigating risks.
