Position Summary and Responsibilities:

  • IT Project Manager Imagine designing world-class online educational experiences for hundreds of thousands of K-12 students, teachers, parents, and school staff in Arizona.
  • The Arizona Department of Education is creating award-winning educational web applications and you can contribute to our success by crafting the very best user interfaces using the bleeding-edge web technologies.
  • The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) IT division seek an IT Project Manager who is self-driven and thrives working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that operates on collaboration and partnership with all business stakeholders.
  • The successful candidate will have extensive technical expertise, demonstrate previous experience and success in large, enterprise-wide products/projects with an emphasis on implementing projects in software development, data visualization, and vendor management.
  • This role requires a calm and composed individual with excellent listening skills, capable of handling unexpected changes due to government policy shifts.
  • The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal consultation and provide innovative solutions under tight timelines.

Qualifications Required:

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Experience Required: A minimum experience of 5 years managing medium to large projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT project management principles.
  • Proficiency in Agile principles, capable of applying them effectively for flexible and collaborative project execution.
  • Proficient in mission, goal, task, and resource definition, translating objectives into actionable plans.
  • Experienced in efficient management of budgets and resources, balancing financial considerations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, engaging stakeholders transparently.
  • Skilled at identifying and implementing process improvements for efficiency.
  • Proficient in conveying project updates and insights to stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and plan effectively considering objectives and constraints.
  • Develop data strategies aligned with goals.
  • Ability to lead and manage data and BI teams.
  • Skill to extract insights from simple datasets when required.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
