In-House Legal Associate | Multifamily Housing

Position Summary: The In-House Legal Associate will represent CYM Living in providing legal counsel on housing laws, resolving landlord-tenant disputes in and out of court, and advising on risk mitigation and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Represent company in court proceedings, including eviction cases and lease disputes
• Provide legal counsel on landlord-tenant matters, fair housing laws, and local rental regulations
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements to resolve conflicts
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing laws and regulations
• Stay current on legal developments impacting the multifamily housing industry
• Collaborate with internal teams to mitigate legal risks
• Perform and manage various administrative tasks including, but not limited to, preparing and auditing files and updating property management software

• JD from ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice in the State of Illinois
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with multiple cross-functional teams
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• The ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Interest in all aspects of multifamily housing
• Must be able to work at our Chicago office – this is not a remote opportunity

SALARY RANGE: $70,000-$90,000 per year.
