GHGSat offers greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services to industrial and government customers around the world. The company uses its own satellites and aircraft sensors, combined with third-party data, to help industrial emitters better understand, control, and reduce their emissions.
As GHGSat continues its journey to build the world's leading geospatial atmospheric data platform, we are seeking a highly organized and proactive Events Manager (reporting to the Director of Marketing) to oversee and execute the end-to-end process for events across multiple industries, including Oil & Gas, Government, Finance, and Waste Management.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of event planning and execution, ensuring exceptional attendee experiences while aligning with company goals and industry standards. This role offers up to 10% travel to support events as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Coordination: Lead the planning and execution of events from conception to completion, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees, stakeholders, and partners.
- Event Logistics & Execution: Oversee event logistics such as venue selection, transportation, on-site registration, attendee management, and other operational aspects.
- Industry-Specific Focus: Manage and organize events tailored to the Oil & Gas, Government, Finance, and Waste sectors, ensuring content, speakers, and logistics are tailored to each industry’s needs.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards and quality.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to coordinate event logistics, including venues, catering, technology, and other services.
- Marketing & Promotion: Support fellow marketing team members when deploying promotional campaigns to drive event attendance and maximize visibility.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Lead post-event analysis to assess success, identify areas for improvement, and gather feedback from attendees and stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, product, etc.) to ensure alignment with business goals and maximize event ROI.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in event planning, ideally within Oil & Gas, Government, Finance, and Waste sectors of at least 3-4 years
- Excellent project management skills (including experience with tools), with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams, vendors, and high-level stakeholders.
- Experience managing event budgets and negotiating contracts.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering exceptional event experiences.
- Ability to travel up to 10% for event coordination and on-site management.
