Summary of Role:
GHJ’s Marketing and Business Development Department is seeking a driven and highly organized Content Specialist to join our collaborative and dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for storytelling and editing who thrives in a busy environment and excels at managing multiple timelines, project plans and deadlines. Our team is a well-oiled machine that works together across the Firm to create engaging content that reflects GHJ’s values and expertise, and we are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for collaboration and innovation.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Content Specialist will play a key role in creating, managing and overseeing content across various mediums, from articles to PR to podcasts to marketing collateral. This person will bring a proactive and organized approach to project management to ensure stakeholders are informed and deliverables are completed on time. They will also contribute strategic insights and oversee the creation of high-quality content that highlights our service providers and helps GHJ stand out in the marketplace.

What you will do: - Content Creation and Project Management
- Oversee the project management of marketing collateral and thoughtware, including:
- Daily management of content calendars and escalate to department/practice leaders when deadlines are not met
- Write, edit and proof articles and thoughtware
- Perform external research to fill in gaps and enhance content
- Edit (and when needed, posting) digital content (website and social media)
- Coordinate with PR firms and external consultants to ensure timely submission of content
- Manage the podcast process, including working with SMEs to develop questions, managing the production process, recording (on-camera or audio participation not required) and light editing as needed
- Review and updating marketing collateral for business development efforts
- Promote GHJ events, webinars and other items in the marketplace
- Award Management and Creation
- Find, create and apply to awards for the Firm and our service providers
- Manage the awards calendar for annual awards to make sure deadlines are not missed
- Research new awards that will highlight the firm and employees in ways that align with Firm strategy
- Marketing Collateral Management
- Collaborate with GHJ’s Pursuit and Proposal Manager to brainstorm, create, edit and refine marketing and business development collateral to meet Firm’s strategic goals
- Write and edit:
- Bios
- Fact sheets
- Placemats
- Case studies
- Testimonials
- Deal announcements
- Proposal content
- Other business development materials (based on Firm needs)
- Bylined Articles and Thought Leadership
- Assist with the creation of bylined articles for internal clients, including:
- Coordinate with PR agencies or contractors to track deadlines and create relevant content
- Develop project plans and article outlines (for internal subject matter experts or external writing vendors)
- Manage outside writing vendors as needed
- Conduct interviews with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) for ghostwriting (when needed)
- Work with internal writers to edit submitted content and coach service providers to create engaging content
- Perform research and adding links to external sources to ensure robust, high-impact articles
- Source additional opportunities to present GHJ and internal SMEs as experts in the marketplace
- Partner with internal SMEs to prepare for interviews with external publications
- Email Blasts and External Announcements
- Coordinate, write and manage the development and sending of external email blasts, announcements and press releases through GHJ’s email system (with support from Senior Marketing Coordinator)
- Manage content calendar for bimonthly digital newsletter and write engaging, timely intro text for each issue
- Content Planning, Social Media and Website Updates
- Maintain and manage content calendars for articles, website updates and other marketing platforms, while ensuring accuracy and alignment with marketing goals
- Track complex content-related projects and maintain detailed plans, timelines and spreadsheets to ensure projects stay on track
- Collaborate with Senior Marketing Coordinator to review/edit planned copy for social posting of all content as needed (Social media content calendar and posting managed by Senior Marketing Coordinator)
- Event and Charitable Initiatives
- Provide content and marketing support for firm-sponsored events and charitable initiatives
Essential functions:- Daily oversight and project management of marketing and business development collateral
- Writing, editing and proofing of written material produced by the Marketing and BD Department
- Daily oversight and project management of press release, thoughtware and marketplace update development
- Expert-level experience with Office Products
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting numerous deadlines
- With proper direction, coordinate and monitor relevant marketing content projects to ensure project effectiveness and timeliness
- Participate in professional education programs to enhance the Firm's content knowledge and capabilities and knowledge of the Firm, the industry and our businesses
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned
Required experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities: - Proven experience in marketing or communications (professional services is a plus). Years of experience will dictate if this is a Senior Specialist or Specialist role.

- Hands-on design skills (Canva, InDesign and Photoshop) using design templates
- Video/audio editing
- Experience with SEMRush, BrightEdge or similar platforms
Educational requirements: - Bachelor’s degree required

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), for example. At GHJ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $80,000 - $105,000.
