The HR Specialist will work under the direction of the Director, Human Resources, coordinating and executing on the administration of human resources programs and functions. This role will be pivotal in providing an excellent onboarding experience for our employees and contractors as well as maintaining records throughout an employee’s or contractor’s employment life cycle.  The HR Specialist will be a resource to employees and managers on HR-related policies and procedures and be integral in promoting the Giving HEART culture in the local office.

 

B.            MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Main point of contact for employees and contractors during onboarding.

2.       Manage collection of and track onboarding paperwork for employees and contractors as well as ongoing licensure and other documents necessary to maintain compliance with state and federal agencies.

3.       Respond to employee inquiries related to HR processes, policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.

4.       Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.  Performs periodic audits and review of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

5.       Processes employee status updates including but not limited to personal information changes, promotions, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments.

6.       Assist in programs and training related to retention and employee engagement.

7.       Assists HR leadership and regional HR teams with duties as needed.

8.       Maintain current knowledge and understanding of federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management.

9.       Perform other comparable and related duties, as assigned.


Qualifications and Responsibilities
  • 1 to 3 years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience interacting and engaging with candidates and employees.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Key competencies to include Communication, both verbal and written, Attention to Detail, Organization, Time Management, Interpersonal skills, Critical Thinking and Teamwork.

$25 - $30 an hour
