Job Description

This role will be based in San Francisco or Sunnyvale, California.

We are looking for a strong Senior Financial Analyst to join our team and support the Go-To-Market (GTM) organization. We work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment providing financial partnership through planning, insights, and analysis. In this role, you will be responsible for headcount & expense management, and in partnership with the GTM Operations and Pricing team, ensure financial and operational rigor of the business.  This role reports to the Director of Foundations FP&A, who is located in Mountain View.

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner closely with business partners and internal FP&A teams to lead and support strategic analyses to address the evolving business dynamics
  • Drive month-end close process and rolling forecasts with our business partners in close coordination with FP&A business line leads and Corporate FP&A
  • Provide management with insights into drivers of headcount, expense, risks and opportunities
  • Prepare financial reporting deliverables (month-end close package, variance explanation, etc) to enable transparency into the business’ performance and drivers.
  • Help lead the annual and quarterly planning process
  • Collaborate with all key members of the finance and accounting teams to understand the story behind numbers and synthesize results in a concise manner, while highlighting key trends
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement by streamlining and automating processes and reporting requirements

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of financial analysis experience
  • BA/BS Degree in Finance or Accounting, or related discipline
  • Analytical background working directly in an FP&A, Strategic Finance or Business Operations environment modeling headcount and expenses

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Hyperion (Essbase), Oracle Financials
  • Strong knowledge of Google Docs, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); expert Excel modeling skills strongly preferred
  • An understanding of accounting theory and practice (e.g. basic revenue recognition rules, company capitalization policies and proper expense timing)
  • Diligent, highly accurate with attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to coordinate and execute projects independently, effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and perform within tight deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate thought-leadership, teamwork, anticipate business needs, and manage relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstration of critical thinking—ability to question the output of a financial model or investment case and considers options for improvement or provides thoughtful alternatives
  • Proactive, results oriented, with a can-do attitude

The pay range for this role is $86,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
