Practice Coordinator - Annapolis Health Center

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of Center Management, the Practice Coordinator will assist with overseeing the daily operations of the Annapolis Health Center. The Practice Coordinator will supervise assigned personnel, operations administration, fiscal, patient advocacy, community outreach, marketing, and fundraising. They will assure that customer service and medical services are delivered with a focus on excellent patient care and experience. This person will assume responsibility for the health center, and all operational duties, when Center Management is not available.



Overview of what you as a Practice Coordinator will do:
  • Under the direction of Center Management provide supervision and coordination of center staff and volunteers. Provide recommendations to Center Management for hire, schedule, performance evaluations, progressive corrective action and termination of center staff. Delegate responsibilities among Center staff(s).
  • Work with Center Management to develop yearly work plans that include Center-specific goals and objectives. Establish, set and monitor performance measure baselines and goals.
  • Complete inventory and purchase requests for equipment and supplies, as well as the maintenance of equipment, supplies, and facility,
  • Evaluates patient check-in and checkout process to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Perform daily/periodic quality assurance activities; collect and process blood and urine specimens according to PPM Lab Manual; prepare specimen laboratory requisition for processing by appropriate outside laboratory; maintain QA with all tests performed and the test results; assist Clinician with follow-up.
  • Clean and maintain the proper working order of equipment and sterilize instruments according to OSHA standards. Perform and record weekly spore testing of autoclaves.
  • Responsible for Daily Cash Balancing and bank deposits. Evaluate and monitor financial operations and computerized patient’s information for the center. Responsible for ensuring proper documentation for insurance billing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines including OSHA, Title X, and Medicaid / Medicare.


Knowledge Skills and Competencies:
  • Supervise people in the absence of the Center Manager when they are not available, including students and volunteers, giving appropriate support, evaluating, directing and holding employees accountable while maintaining high morale and productivity.
  • Ensure medical care is delivered according to PPM manuals / Standards & Guidelines. 
  • Responsible for on-site medical records, medical logs and Q.A. testing.
  • Respond to security breaches in accordance with all PPM policies and procedures and report all incidences and occurrences
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain open lines of communication across departments.


Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree and 1 year supervisory or clinical delivery of care experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalency with two (2) years of experience in a clinical supervisor/management position or 3 years of clinical healthcare experience also accepted.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills; attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.

$24 - $27 an hour
